Frozen Sump Pump Discharge Line: What to Do Right Now

- Start at the outlet and work back toward the house. Clearing the mouth first gives meltwater somewhere to go.

- Or use gentle, spread-out heat. A hair dryer, a heating pad, or a heat gun on its lowest setting kept moving. PVC softens well below the temperature a heat gun can reach, so never hold it in one spot.
